The final 2008 Kentucky Derby prep is today. The Coolmore Lexington Stakes is the last chance for Atoned, Tomcitio, and other familiars and latecomers to show us their best and earn their ticket to Churchill Downs for the first Saturday in May.

Tomcito is tuned up for a big race, and he did alright in the Florida Derby to finish third behind Big Brown. Double-B (Big Brown) was a superhorse that day, but if you take him out, second-place Smooth Air beat Tomcito by 7 1/2 lengths. I'll try... Read More

The Girls Got Game

For me the most interesting race this weekend will be run at keeneland when Bsharpsonata gets tested against two of  this crops leading fillies, Proud Spell and Country Star. Bsharpsonata should get the best wagering value out of these three and I don’t see any other condenders in this race.
