Thought I'd continue to pay tribute to Barbaro. He's the reason that many/most of us have even met. The card is my own creation, and I'm sharing with you all here tonight in the spirit of this Christmas time of year! May this year in '09 truly be the year of the horse! Pray for slaughter and the transport across our borders for the purpose of slaugthter to end forever and ever!!

Big Brown retired after injury in Breeders Cup workout

Big Brown tore part of his right front foot off while preparing for the Breeders Cup Classic, and was retired from racing shortly afterward. The work took place with stablemate and multiple Grade 1 winner Kip Deville over Aqueduct's turf course on the morning of Monday, October 13. Horse racing drug rules and testing must both be improved

Last week trainer Rick Dutrow appealed a 15-day suspension from Churchill Downs, a penalty given to the trainer after his horse Salute the Count was found to have ran the Aegon Turf Sprint with an amount of clenbuterol exceeding the limit allowed at Churchill. Curlin dominates Dubai World Cup by 7 3/4 lengths

Reigning Horse of the Year Curlin won the world's richest race today, the $6 million Dubai World Cup, setting a new record margin of victory for the 2,000 meter event (almost 1 1/4 miles). This is the second time in Curlin's life he's set such a record, he also did it last year in the Arkansas Derby, which he won by a record-setting 10 1/2 lengths.
