 Rachel Alexandra is the 2009 Eclipse Award-winning Horse of the Year! She won all of her races during her three-year-old campaign, winning the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks by more than 20 lengths before running against males for the first time in the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes. She became the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924 and defeated the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby winner in the same Triple Crown series. She would go on to win the Grade 1 Mother Goose by 19 and 1/2 lengths before finishing the year with two more Grade 1 stakes victories, completing her year by beating older males in the Woodward at Saratoga.

Rachel Alexandra bobbleheads were given away to horse racing fans at Oaklawn Park on Monday, January 18, 2010. On the evening of the same date, Rachel Alexandra's connections were awarded the trophies for Three-Year-Old Filly and Horse of the Year. During her award-winning three-year-old campaign, Rachel won two stakes at Oaklawn Park, including the Grade 2 Fantasy.

  Jockeys, the Animal Planet documentary series, continues with season 2 available for a discounted price on DVD February 9th, 2010. The second season upgraded the show to hour-long episodes, and leads up to the 135th Kentucky Derby, with the additional star power of Eclipse Jockey of the Year Garrett "Go-go" Gomez, who rode Bob Baffert trainee Pioneerof the Nile; and also featuring Corey Nakatani, winning rider of seven Breeders' Cup Championship races.  Zenyatta will not be retiring as expected after her 2009 Breeders' Cup Classic victory. Instead she will return to host a new prime time program, The Zenyatta Show, while Rachel Alexandra succeeds Zenyatta as host of The Tonight Show. If Zenyatta fails in her new prime time slot, Jeff Zucker and Jay Leno will force Rachel Alexandra out of show business and take turns riding each other as they campaign for the coveted Eclipse Ass of the Year trophy.

 Santa Anita Park celebrates its 75th season as the 2009-2010 Winter/Spring Meet opens Saturday, December, 26th. First post is 11:30 AM local time. The 10-race card features two Grade 1 stakes, give-aways, a John Henry bronze statue ceremony, and this year's Breeders' Cup Classic Champion Zenyatta!
Free Posters and Calendars
Fans will recieve a Santa Anita Park 2010 wall calendar, free with paid admission. This year's free calendar features unforgettable moments and champions, including Seabiscuit and Zenyatta, from the track's 75 years of horse racing history. Fans at the track will also recieve a free Zenyatta poster courtesy of HRTV. The poster displays photos from all 14 of Zenyatta's victories in her undefeated racing career.
