The 2010 Kentucky Derby Graded Earnings List has been released by Chuchill Downs. The 136th running of the Kentucky Derby takes place on Saturday, May 1st this year. 47 horses make the first list of horses battling for one of the 20 posts in the run for the roses.

New Graded Winners this Week
Making the 2010 Kentucky Derby Graded Earnings list for the first time are:
Alphie's Bet, Yawanna Twist, Nacho Friend, Turf Melody, and Outlaw Man.
2010 Kentucky Derby Millionaires
These horses top the list and already have enough earnings to guarantee that they can make the gate of the top 20 richest graded stakes winning 3-year-old racehorse on Derby day. They won't need another big win like horses at the bottom of the list.
#1. Lookin at Lucky, trained by Bob Baffert. $1,210,000
#2. Vale of York, trained by Saeed bin Suroor. $1,114,784
Rounding out the Top 5
These horses can also get into the Derby without having to win another prep for the earnings.
#3. Blind Luck, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. $831,150
#4. Noble's Promise, trained by Kenny McPeek. $648,000
#5. Rule, trained by Todd Pletcher. $570,000

 Rachel Alexandra is the 2009 Eclipse Award-winning Horse of the Year! She won all of her races during her three-year-old campaign, winning the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks by more than 20 lengths before running against males for the first time in the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes. She became the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924 and defeated the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby winner in the same Triple Crown series. She would go on to win the Grade 1 Mother Goose by 19 and 1/2 lengths before finishing the year with two more Grade 1 stakes victories, completing her year by beating older males in the Woodward at Saratoga.
Rachel Alexandra Bobblehead from Oaklawn Park
Rachel Alexandra bobbleheads were given away to horse racing fans at Oaklawn Park on Monday, January 18, 2010. On the evening of the same date, Rachel Alexandra's connections were awarded the trophies for Three-Year-Old Filly and Horse of the Year. During her award-winning three-year-old campaign, Rachel won two stakes at Oaklawn Park, including the Grade 2 Fantasy.

  Jockeys, the Animal Planet documentary series, continues with season 2 available for a discounted price on DVD February 9th, 2010.
